Prometheus Power Solutions is a roofing contractor based in north Fort Worth (1953 Golden Heights Rd, Ste 801, 76177) that replaces roofs for homeowners across Dallas–Fort Worth, rated 5.0 stars on Google. We handle full roof replacements, inspect and document hail damage, offer impact-resistant (Class 4) shingle options, and help homeowners plan a new roof and solar together so the roof is not torn up twice. Call 817-523-9029 or read on for how the process works, what it costs in DFW, and the Texas rules worth knowing first.

We replace residential roofs across the Dallas–Fort Worth area, inspect roofs after hailstorms and document what we find, and help homeowners choose materials built for North Texas weather, including Class 4 impact-resistant shingles. Because we also install solar, FranklinWH batteries and generators, we can plan a roof and a solar system as one project.
A typical residential roof replacement in DFW moves from inspection to written estimate, material selection, any required permit, tear-off and deck check, installation, cleanup and a final walkthrough. Most single-family tear-offs finish in one to three working days once materials arrive, with weather and roof size driving the schedule.
A lot. Texas recorded 902 major hail events in 2025 and led the nation for the 11th straight year, and State Farm alone paid about $1.4 billion in Texas hail claims in 2025. DFW storms regularly drop golf-ball to baseball-size hail, which is why roof age and material matter here.
The figures come from United Policyholders and the State Farm newsroom. Locally, the Storm Prediction Center logged hail up to 3 inches in far south Fort Worth and in Weatherford on June 1, 2025, a 2.75-inch stone just north of central Fort Worth on the night of April 25–26, 2026, and half-dollar hail across Keller and Southlake on April 28, 2026. Hail damage is not always visible from the ground, so an inspection after a major storm is worth scheduling.
As a market estimate, a typical DFW asphalt-shingle reroof runs roughly $6,600 to $18,000 depending on roof size, pitch, layers to remove, decking repairs and the shingle chosen. Impact-resistant, metal and tile roofs cost more per square foot. These are published market ranges, not Prometheus prices; your written estimate depends on your roof.
The ranges below come from RoofVista’s 2026 Texas cost table (installed cost per square foot of roof, based on a 2,000 sq ft project) and Build-Folio’s Dallas estimate.
| Material | Estimated installed cost per sq ft | Estimated project (2,000 sq ft) | Notes for DFW |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3-tab asphalt | $3.18–$4.77 | $6,000–$11,250 | Lowest cost; shortest life, roughly 20 years nominal |
| Architectural asphalt | $4.24–$6.36 | $8,000–$15,000 | Most common DFW choice; often 15–25 years in Texas heat and hail |
| Impact-resistant (Class 4) shingles | $5.40–$8.64 | $10,000–$20,000 | Highest UL 2218 rating; may qualify for an insurer discount |
| Metal roofing | $8.40–$14.70 | $16,000–$35,000 | Standing seam can last 40+ years; can dent in large hail |
| Clay and concrete tile | $10.50–$18.90 | $20,000–$45,000 | Heavy; structure must support the weight |

Compare quotes line by line, not just on the total. Make sure each one names the same brand and shingle line, includes tear-off, underlayment, drip edge, flashing and ventilation, states how decking repairs are priced, and says who pulls any permit. A cheaper quote that skips drip edge or decking allowances often costs more later.
Texas has no mandatory state roofing license as of October 2026, so cities, not the state, set permit and contractor-registration rules. State law also bars contractors from paying, waiving or rebating your insurance deductible, and an impact-resistant roof can earn a premium discount with many insurers.
If your roof is more than about halfway through its expected life, or has hail damage, replace it before installing solar. Removing and reinstalling panels later for a reroof adds cost and downtime. Planning both at once lets the roof layout, attachments and flashing be designed together.
We install solar power systems and FranklinWH battery backup as well as roofs, so one team can sequence the work. Which utility serves your address, Oncor or a cooperative such as Tri-County Electric, also affects interconnection and how exported solar is credited, so we check that early.

FAQ
No. As of October 2026 Texas has no mandatory state roofing license. HB 3344 (2025) would have created one but did not pass. Cities set their own permit and contractor-registration rules, so check with your city’s building department.
Most single-family tear-off reroofs in DFW take one to three working days once materials arrive. Large or steep roofs, decking repairs, tile or metal, and weather delays can extend that.
No. Texas Business and Commerce Code §27.02 prohibits contractors from waiving, rebating or paying a homeowner’s deductible. The homeowner is responsible for the deductible under the policy.
Often, but not automatically. Many Texas insurers offer a discount for UL 2218 impact-resistant roofs, with Class 4 earning the largest credit, and each insurer sets the amount. Ask your agent before choosing a shingle.
